You want to become a certified home inspector, but you need to figure out the best route. Several training programs are available, and this article will outline some of them. It lists the American Society of Home Inspectors and the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors.

American Home Inspectors Training

American Home Inspectors Training (AHIT) is a certified training program that can help you learn how to become a home inspector. It offers a variety of courses for both experienced and aspiring inspectors. The program consists of several books, audio and visual tutorials, online exams, and field training. This is an affordable, comprehensive way to get your certification.

AHIT has over 70 locations in the US. Students can take in-person classes at one of these locations. They can also sign up for a study-at-home course.

Both programs offer professional support to students and instructors. AHIT’s Professional Home Inspection Online Course includes all the information you need to begin your career as a certified inspector. In addition to the courses, AHIT provides a guide to starting your own home inspection business, marketing material, and continuing education.

AHIT’s Exam Prep has a database of questions that mimic the actual exam. These question banks are designed to provide feedback and prepare you for success. Also, its supplemental tutorials are a great way to review the lessons and increase your knowledge of the material.

AHIT’s Online PLUS Field course combines online coursework with five days of hands-on mock inspections. Each student will receive a practice report to take into the field.

International Association of Certified Home Inspectors

The International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI) is one of the most respected home inspection associations in the world. They provide training and support for home inspectors. Their website also features a directory listing of members in your area.

To become a certified home inspector, you must complete pre-licensing training. Some states require continuing education as well. These courses can help you get the most out of your career and establish your business.

InterNACHI also offers free online training. This includes the free State Exam Prep Course. It is a great way to learn about the different types of inspections and best practices.

InterNACHI has partnered with schools across the country. You can take classes in both classroom and field formats. For example, the AHIT training course is available in over 30 states.

In addition, ATI Training offers both online and classroom courses. They also offer website hosting and marketing packages. Those who join their organization receive a free logo and marketing materials.

PHII is another great home inspection training resource. Their courses have been approved by the U.S. Department of Education. They offer hundreds of individual courses, many of which are relevant to the home inspection industry.

If you are looking for a home inspection course that is inexpensive, the Professional Home Inspection Institute is a good choice. Students will learn valuable information and have lifetime access to the course materials.

American Society of Home Inspectors

The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) is an organization that advocates high standards of practice and professional conduct in the home inspection industry. The organization began in 1976 and offers a number of home inspection training programs.

ASHI is a nonprofit organization that promotes industry standards and provides training. ASHI has developed a code of ethics and Standards of Practice, which are now being used by various states throughout North America.

One of the programs offered by the American Society of Home Inspectors is the ASHI@HOME Home Inspection Training Program. This comprehensive program provides everything you need to succeed in the home inspection industry.

It includes an 85-page membership guide, a free subscription to InterNACHI magazine, discounts on home inspection software, and E&O insurance. There are also several free webinars.

Whether you’re a novice in the home inspection field or a seasoned veteran, the program’s hybrid learning format is designed to keep you engaged. You’ll learn how to write a professional home inspection report while having live interaction with experienced instructors.

The ASHI@HOME program also includes several supplemental tutorials, such as a telescopic round inspector’s mirror, a hard copy of a popular home inspection book, and basic tools for performing home inspections. These extras help you better understand the course material and increase your confidence in passing the state exam.
