Whether you are living or traveling in Chesapeake Bay, there are many opportunities for art lovers. While seafood may be its biggest draw, there are also plenty of ways to become artsy. From visiting art galleries to doing art projects, here are some of the best ways to love arts and crafts while you are at Chesapeake Bay.

  1. Visit an Art Gallery

The art of Chesapeake Bay may not be big, but some notable galleries are worth visiting. This will give you the chance to know more about the established and up-and-coming artists of Maryland and Virginia.  One of the best places to visit is Annapolis, which is home to more than two dozen art galleries. Chestertown, a colonial seaport, is also worth seeing for its art galleries. Whether it is paintings, textiles, and sculptures, among other art forms, there are some decent places to see in Chesapeake Bay.

  1. Attend an Art Fair or Festival

If visiting an art gallery is not enough and you want to be more involved, you can never go wrong by visiting art fairs. Check the community calendar for some of the best fairs worth a visit. Fairs and festivals may not be as big as other places, but they can be a good opportunity to be hands-on with some art projects, especially if you are with kids.

Many festivals attract art lovers in Chesapeake. The Virginia Arts Festival is one that is sure to be worth your time. Art education is one of the pillars of the festival, so this is a great way to learn something new. There are also shows in museums, theaters, and concert halls, among other venues that attract art lovers.

Waterfowl Festival, which has been held since 1971, is also an event you may enjoy. Paintings, photographs, and carvings from some of the best wildlife artists are showcases in this festival.

  1. Shop in a Crafts Store

Looking for arts and crafts supply in Chesapeake Bay? There are several places you can visit, many of which are selling cheap products that can stir your creativity. Some of the best craft stores to visit in Chesapeake Bay include Kitsch, Michaels, A.C. Moore Arts and Crafts, and JOANN Fabrics and Crafts.

  1. Enjoy Art Projects at Home

You don’t have to go out to be artsy when you are in Chesapeake Bay. Even in the comfort of your home, you can engage in some exciting art projects. If you have no idea how to do it, visit Shutterfly if you are looking for inspiration.

Whether you would like to create custom calendars, DIY jewelry, personalized pillows, and other craft projects, be inspired by the products sold by Shutterfly. Or, if you are feeling too lazy, you can order their products and have them delivered to your place in Chesapeake Bay!
