Maintaining Your Pool Year Round And How Regular Testing Helps

Pool maintenance is a crucial task if you’d like to increase the longevity of your pool and its components. Maintaining your pool is much like maintaining a garden, it requires ongoing effort and regular care. Here are some of the top ways that regular testing for your pool throughout the year can help you out:

Regular Pool Inspections

As you maintain a schedule and conduct a periodic inspection on your pool, you can make sure that you can spot the signs of trouble early on. When you forget to regularly inspect your pool and monitor the chemicals inside, it’s likely that you could see harmful bacteria growth and the chance that the PH balance could be compromised.

Safety Requirements

Your pool can be a breeding ground for bacteria and after you’ve had heavy use of your pool or a rainstorm you’ll need to make sure that you are shocking your pool and working at finding a balance with the chemicals again. The weather can wreak havoc on your pool systems including the tiles, pipes, accessories, and pumps. Maintaining safety requirements for your pool with your pool accessories and making sure that your pool is not a hotbed for bacteria can make it safer for use.

Nitrates

Nitrates can occur when septic tanks and wells interact with your pool, you experience acid rain, or runoff from trees, you get waste from the local pet, or you have a high volume of people in your pool. Nitrate contamination needs to be dealt with swiftly and if you detect a high level of nitrates, you will need to potentially drain your pool by a third and refill/balance it.

If you would like to learn more about regular testing and how our regular testing service can benefit your pool maintenance, contact us today. We can arrange a maintenance package that works best for your needs.
